Move over, Sonja Bakker!
This keyboard knows more about a balanced life than you do.
The Balance keyboard is the perfect partner for the Rollermouse range. But even without a Rollermouse as a partner, this is certainly a great alternative to your current keyboard.
Why the Contour Balance Keyboard?
This keyboard is designed to adapt to the user. It doesn't matter what you find most comfortable to work with. The keyboard naturally has a negative ‘tilt’. This means that the top of the keyboard is lower than the front where your wrists rest. As soon as you mention this to an ergonomist, I bet a spontaneous smile will appear on their face. But even if you prefer no tilt or a positive tilt, the Balance Keyboard is your friend. It has feet that can be unfolded into 2 positions. Medium height for a flat profile or the high feet that raise the top of your keyboard higher than the bottom.
Hotkeys, a keyboard with an eye for functionality?
The Contour Balance Keyboard has plenty of those. The function keys (F1-F12) double as media and hotkeys. In fact, they are set by default to be used as media and hotkeys. If you want to use the regular F-keys, press a combination of the Fn key together with the F-key you want to use. The hotkeys are divided into 4 categories.
- Media keys
- Manage apps
- Interface functions
- Volume control
Ergonomics and a numeric keypad?
In addition to providing more functionality with the media keys, this is also one of the few full-layout keyboards we stock in our webshop. This means that this keyboard has a numeric keypad on the right side. Normally, we do not stock these keyboards for ergonomic reasons. So, it must mean a lot if this keyboard passes our ergonomic assessment.
Why do we make this exception then?
This exception for the Balance is made because it was originally designed to be used in conjunction with a product from the Rollermouse family. Due to its width, we do recommend using a central mouse with this keyboard. For use with a standard mouse, this keyboard is just a bit too wide if you want to fully benefit from everything it has to offer. Combine it with a central mouse as you can find here.
Matching Contour Balance wrist rest
In case you don't want to use a central mouse, Contour has designed a wrist rest specifically for the Balance keyboard. The rest is finished with synthetic leather and filled with foam, which distributes pressure across your hands and wrists while typing. Thanks to the rest, your wrists and hands are at the ideal height for using the keyboard.
You can add the wrist rest to your order at the top right of the page. You can read more about the Balance wrist rest here.
A travel-loving type
The Balance loves to be taken home, to work. Wherever you need it, the Balance Keyboard follows you. You place the receiver in its designated compartment, which is equipped with a magnet, so it won't easily fall out when you open the battery compartment where you store it.
For the demanding user
You don't need a charging cable because the Balance runs on 2x AAA batteries, and thanks to its smart energy-saving technology, they don't need to be replaced often. Contour is so confident in its energy-saving technology that the Balance doesn't even have an on/off switch. It puts itself into a sleep mode, consuming almost no power.
