Why the Mousetrapper Prime?

With the Prime, you have Mousetrapper's flagship product. It's wireless, has numerous buttons with extra functions, features artificial leather palm rests, and is a boon for your shoulders. You place it directly in front of you, between your keyboard and yourself. The compact working posture you adopt as a result provides more relaxation for your shoulders.

Using the Prime

You position the Prime so that the ribbed mat lies directly in front of you. The spacebar of your keyboard is an extension of this. You slide and roll the ribbed mat to move the cursor on your screen. This works pleasantly, especially because you can operate it with multiple fingers simultaneously. Although the mat cannot continuously slide horizontally, the cursor always keeps moving.

The Prime is lightning-fast with its maximum DPI of 2000. I wouldn't immediately recommend this speed; it's something you gradually work towards. With the help of the Mousetrapper driver MTkeys, you can incrementally increase the speed.

On the wireless Prime, you have 8 buttons at your disposal. Standard functions include copy, double-click, and scroll functions. You can find all standard functions on the right side of this product page.

MTkeys is a driver developed by Mousetrapper that offers you many possibilities. It is simple and clear to use and can be used by anyone. With MTkeys, you can, among other things, change the functions of the buttons, but also adjust the sensitivity of the cursor or navigate forwards and backwards in folders and browsers.

Prioritise your shoulders

With both hands on the Prime, you can really get going. Left hand for clicking, right hand for operating the cursor, or vice versa. You can find the ideal working method for you. What we always advise is to assign the left mouse button function to a button, as this works much faster than clicking with the mat.

Your keyboard at the right height

At 2 cm, the Prime isn't a long-neck, but that's perfectly fine. Most keyboards are around the same height. If you want to adjust the height, you can use the rubber mat under the Mousetrapper for this. With the mat folded in, the Prime sits a bit higher; unfolded, it sits a bit lower. The rubber mat also ensures that the keyboard stays in place.

Wireless with endurance

The wireless Prime is a well-thought-out product. The battery lasts up to 4 months, and you can charge it with the included cable connected to your computer. You can connect the Mousetrapper super fast via Bluetooth (4.1). Don't have Bluetooth? No problem, as it can be used wired with the included cable.

The Prime does not have an on/off button, but thanks to its sleep mode, it can still last those 6 months. Should it start flashing red, indicating that it's almost empty, you can easily charge it with the included cable while working. After 7-10 hours of charging, the Mousetrapper will indicate that the batteries are full with a green light.

What makes a central mouse so good?

A trackpad or central mouse, as the Mousetrapper is called, primarily aims to centre your posture. Keyboard directly in front of you, mouse directly in front of you, shoulders maximally relaxed, and get to work.

However, there are more advantages. For example, you can nicely distribute the strain across your hands and arms. A product like the Prime also houses many more buttons and functions than a regular mouse, meaning you need the keyboard and cursor less.

Personalise with MT keys

You really should use Mousetrapper's MTkeys driver. With this piece of software, you have the ability to customise the device to your liking, so make use of it. Of course, you might consider getting used to the device first and then discovering its possibilities, but getting used to it will be much easier if all the buttons do what you expect them to do.

The Prime has 8 customisable buttons, so you might even have buttons left over. Don't worry, you can always add them later. For example, if you initially keep confusing the top 2 buttons on the left and right, just give them both the same function. Later, when you can find them blindly, you can always assign an extra function.
