Why do I need a laptop riser?
A laptop offers convenience and allows you to work wherever you want. However, its mobility comes at a price. You pay that price with slowly emerging neck and shoulder complaints. Your laptop screen and keyboard are too close together. The result is a forced, hunched posture that you won't be happy with in the long run.
A laptop stand or laptop riser contributes to a healthy working posture. If you don't use a laptop riser, your laptop won't be at eye level. This causes you to automatically look down, which can lead to complaints in the neck, shoulders, and back. By using a laptop holder, you bring your screen to eye level. This reduces the strain on your back, shoulder, and neck muscles, allowing you to continue working in a relaxed manner.
It is important that the top edge of your laptop is as close to eye level as possible. This is not always possible, but try to approximate it at least. You will automatically sit straighter and your shoulders will slouch less. Your body will more easily find and maintain relaxation.
