An ode to the Conceptronic Orazio02US set

Two devices, one mission

Sometimes you don't want to think about your gear at all. You just want to type, click, work, done. The Orazio02US is exactly such a set. No cable clutter, no hassle with drivers, and no complicated buttons that accidentally turn your screen upside down. Just a keyboard and mouse that do what you expect, but with just a little more attention to a relaxed posture.

Why this set?

Wireless and nicely tidy

You connect both the keyboard and the mouse via 2.4G wireless with a single USB nano receiver. Plug in and go. Your desk will immediately look less 'office from 2009'.

Keyboard with a split shape

The keyboard is a single unit, but it has a split shape with a slight elevation in the middle. This helps to position your hands more naturally. The keys are low-profile membrane, so you type relatively low and quietly. And yes: the entire board is simply black. No grey key surprise.

Above the spacebar is an extra scroll wheel. With it, you can not only scroll up and down, but you can also push the wheel left and right for horizontal scrolling. Especially useful in, for example, Excel or wide documents.

Semi-vertical mouse with DPI button

The mouse is semi-vertical. Your hand rests less flat on your desk, which feels just a bit more relaxed for many people. You also get forward/back buttons and a DPI button (800 / 1200 / 1600) to adjust the speed.

Get the most out of your set

Installed in 30 seconds

Insert the AAA batteries (2 in the keyboard and 2 in the mouse), switch both devices on, and plug the USB nano receiver into your laptop or PC. No driver installation is needed.

Useful shortcut keys

With the FN key, you can use multimedia functions such as volume, play/pause, browser, and e-mail. Useful if you make a lot of calls, have music playing, or just want to switch faster.

Sleep mode (and waking up)

If the keyboard and mouse are not used for 10 minutes, they automatically go into sleep mode. Press a key to wake them up again.

Ergonomic benefits

This set is mainly intended to make your working day more comfortable without immediately needing an ultra-specialist ergonomic arsenal. The keyboard helps with its split shape and low keystroke. The mouse does its part with the semi-vertical position: less 'flat hand', more of a natural grip.

Time to measure

The keyboard is 46.5 cm wide. That's fine if you have a normal desk, but on a tiny desk it can get a bit cramped next to your mouse. The mouse is 12 x 6.5 x 6.8 cm and in terms of size falls into the 'nicely standard' category, not tiny and not excessively large.

A small tip for your posture

Preferably place your mouse close to your keyboard and try to keep your shoulders low. Sounds simple, works surprisingly well.
