Normally, we use this section of text to write something fun and light-hearted about a product. However, I now want to use it to make sure you grab a cup of coffee or tea before you start reading, because there's quite a bit to tell about the K4. Are you settled? Perhaps a biscuit too? Let’s go!
Why the Keychron K4 keyboard?
Very complete
The Keychron K4 gives you all the keys a keyboard can have and uses 96% of the usual space for this. This means the keyboard is narrower for ergonomic reasons. Furthermore, it has hotkeys that can be used by pressing combination keys.
The K4's connectivity is fantastic. Via Bluetooth, you can wirelessly connect up to three devices to the keyboard simultaneously. Using combination keys, you can quickly and easily switch between your devices. For example, one moment you might be working on your laptop, and the next you're quickly typing a WhatsApp message about dinner. A fourth device can be connected with a cable (USB). Of course, connecting a single device and using the USB cable for that is also an option.
Matching K4 wrist rest
Keychron has designed two wrist rests specifically for the K4. One is made of American walnut wood. The other combines this same wood with resin for a unique look. Furthermore, the keyboards feature 4 anti-slip points that ensure the wrist rests stay in place.
Thanks to the support, your wrists and hands are at the correct height for using the keyboard. This optimises relaxation and prevents injuries. Carrying case
The Keychron carrying case is the optimal way to transport your Keychron keyboard. The case opens and closes with a zip and consists of a compartment for the keyboard and a compartment for the cable inside. The case is made of plastic and canvas, providing a combination of durability, sturdiness, lightness, and style. The rubber handle makes carrying easy. Gateron switch puller
The Gateron switch puller is the ultimate addition to your hot-swappable keyboard. Our hot-swappable keyboards already come standard with a keycap and switch puller. However, this switch puller is more user-friendly.
Place the Gateron switch puller over the switch and press down until you hear a click. Now you can easily pull out the switch. With a press of the button at the top, the puller releases the switch. You can read more about the Gateron switch puller here.
What makes an ergonomic keyboard so good?
Anyone who performs a lot of computer work knows that this can be strenuous for your wrists, shoulders, back, and neck. A good keyboard can help you with this. The Keychron K4, for example, has a compact design. The keys are also extra easy to press. Furthermore, you can place your mouse close to the keyboard. All of this is to minimise muscle tension, thereby preventing or reducing injuries.
Get the most out of this product
The K4 uses Gateron mechanical switches. You have a choice of Red, Brown, and Blue switches. You can also opt for Hot-Swappable keys. In this overview, you can find the characteristics of these keys.
