You place the Gateron switch puller over the switch and press it down until you hear a click. Now you can easily pull out the switch. With a press of the button on top, the puller releases the switch.

Once you have removed the keycaps from the keys, you will see that the switches have two white feet running along the front and back. The two grippers of the switch puller should be pressed over these. It is advisable to unlock the switches from the puller in your hand, as they are released with quite a bit of force.
