Fellowes Aeramax DX95 Air Purifier 28-42m²
Beschrijving Fellowes Aeramax DX95 Air Purifier 28-42m²
An ode to Fellowes air purifiers
You have to keep it airy
If you get wind of a good purifier, then you shouldn't ignore good advice. Many users have already expressed their satisfaction with their Aeramax air purifier. You've probably heard about it, though not likely at that person's home. Is pollution plucked from the air? We don't think so. Neither does Fellowes. They didn't want to build castles in the air about air purification and worked extremely hard on it.
Why the Aeramax air purifier?
Clean air is not a given
Since around 2020, we have suddenly become very aware of the importance of clean air. However, even before that, the air quality in our living rooms and offices was often not the best.
Indoor air can be up to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air. The particles flying around are responsible for half of all illnesses. What exactly flies through your living room?
- 15,000 flu viruses per cubic metre
- 42,000 live dust mites per 28 grams of dust
- Allergens such as pollen, dust mites and moulds
- Pet dander
There's more in the air than you'd expect. Above, you've already had a small summary, but the list is actually longer. Think, for example, of cigarette smoke. In addition, the air continues to get polluted. Your pet continues to shed dander, your ventilation system harbours moulds, and pollen finds its way indoors. As soon as you plop down in your chair or sofa, dust flies through the room, and you don't want to know what settles in your carpet.
How the Fellowes air purifier works
A Fellowes air purification device in your living room, bedroom, or office, for example, filters out as many polluted particles as possible, thereby cleaning the air. Thanks to the filters in the device, 99.7% of particles up to 0.3 microns are filtered. How small is that? We can see dust of about 25 microns in size with the naked eye. A red blood cell is 7-8 microns. Fellowes has developed 4 stages by which your air is purified:
- The Carbon Filter in the Fellowes DX5, DX55 and DX95 air purifiers does the coarsest work. The carbon filter captures odours and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), the larger particles.
- The True HEPA filter tackles the small stuff such as cigarette smoke, mould spores, bacteria, pollen and dust mites up to 0.3 microns in size.
- The Aerasafe antimicrobial treatment works against odours caused by bacteria, mildew and moulds.
- PlasmaTrue technology ionises a particle and renders it harmless. Ionisers are known to produce harmful ozone. Research has shown that Fellowes machines remain well below the harmful standard and are therefore safe.
Measurable data thanks to Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR)
Fellowes makes air purification measurable with CADR. It is a standard developed in the United States that includes both airflow and filter efficiency in its calculation. There is a CADR value for dust, pollen, and smoke. The value was developed by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers, which has also AHAM certified Fellowes' devices.
While Americans prefer to work in cubic feet per hour for air purification, Fellowes has translated this to cubic metres and converted it back to the number of square metres in a room, so you can easily select the right device. You can find a handy table below to help you choose.
User-friendly
The Aeramax devices are all user-friendly. Their weight is between 4 and 7 kilograms, they have a handle for easy relocation, and maintenance is simple. Set the air purifier to its automatic mode, and it will adjust its circulation speed itself. The blue (good air!), yellow (poorer air) or red (bad air) circle tells you the air quality.
The DX5 has 3 settings (low, medium and high), while the DX55 and DX95 also come with a 'Turbo' setting for heavy-duty work.
What makes an air purifier so good?
Thanks to an air purifier, you remove many harmful particles from the air. A HEPA air purifier with a carbon filter quickly filters viruses, allergens, dust, dander and bacteria from the air, significantly improving air quality at your home or office.

Easy maintenance
Fellowes has made its devices maintenance-friendly. The 2 filters in the device are easy to replace and, thanks to the indicator on the device, also show when they need replacing by turning red. A carbon filter has had its best time every 3 months, a HEPA filter every 12 months. You can find the necessary steps for changing the filters clearly in the accompanying manual. If you can't figure it out, please let us know. In the table below, you can see which filters your device needs.
