FL-41 filter for migraines
Glasses with an FL-41 filter are known as migraine glasses because they filter out the most intense light – specific wavelengths of blue and green light. As a result, this light does not reach your eyes, allowing you to see contrasts more clearly and even improving your visual acuity. Put simply, the filter relieves strain on your eyes, thereby preventing headaches, visual stress, ocular migraines and blepharospasm (eyelid spasms).
Migraine glasses also help you fall asleep more easily. This is because blue light inhibits the production of the sleep hormone. Given our heavy use of mobile phones, we are exposed to a lot of blue light in the hours before bedtime.

Erasmus MC study on operating theatre lighting
In 2023, a study was conducted among 91 surgical assistants. The study focused on bright operating theatre lighting, with the FL-41 filter glasses being investigated as a potential solution. Of the 91 respondents, 65.1% reported experiencing symptoms. 23.8% had tired eyes, 17.5% had headaches and 13.5% had migraines. 18.9% reported occasionally taking sick leave as a result of these symptoms. 26 participants used the FL-41 filter glasses for an average of 5 days. 56.5% experienced fewer symptoms, and 78.2% of the testers even gave the glasses a score of 7 or higher. 30.4% were definitely planning to buy the glasses, whilst 56.5% were considering it.
