INUTEQ PCM CoolOver-X Cooling Vest
Product description of INUTEQ PCM CoolOver-X Cooling Vest
An ode to the Inuteq Biobased PCM CoolOver X 21°C
Cooling with character
Imagine: you're walking through the city in the middle of summer, working in a hot factory, or, as an emergency response officer, sitting in a firefighter's suit. The heat clings to your body. But then... you click on the Inuteq CoolOver X. Within minutes, you feel a wonderful, constant cooling of exactly 21°C. No more sweat outbreaks, no more feeling listless. Just comfort, precisely when you need it. And all this in a vest made from biobased material. This is cooling with character.
Why the CoolOver X?
Always the right temperature
This vest uses PCM (Phase Change Material) technology. Simply put: the vest contains pads filled with a special biobased material that melts at a fixed temperature, thus cooling your body. Variants are available for 6.5°C, 15°C, 21°C, 24°C, and 29°C. Choose the temperature that suits your situation and preference. As soon as your body is warmer than the chosen PCM temperature, the vest literally draws the heat away from you. The cooling effect starts immediately once you put on the vest and lasts for an average of 2 to 4 hours, depending on the conditions.
Which temperature do I need?
You choose the correct cooling temperature based on the environment in which you wear the vest. A useful rule of thumb is: choose a PCM temperature that is approximately 5 to 10 degrees lower than the ambient temperature. This way, it stays comfortably cool without getting too cold.
- 6.5°C: For use in extreme heat or under heavy protective clothing.
- 15°C: For warm workplaces or during physical exertion.
- 21°C: The most chosen option, feels cool but not cold, ideal for daily use.
- 24°C: Slightly cooling, pleasant in mildly warm conditions.
- 29°C: Provides subtle cooling, suitable for temperatures around room level.
Biobased and reusable
The PCM CoolOver X is a sustainable variant of the regular PCM CoolOver. It uses biobased PCM instead of synthetic material. Just place it in the fridge or a cool box, and you can reuse it. No power needed, no fuss.
How to use the vest?
Load briefly, cool for hours
Before use, place the vest with the PCM pads in the fridge, cool box, or ice water (for at least 20 minutes). The pads will then solidify and store cooling energy. Afterwards, put on the vest, preferably over a T-shirt, and the cooling begins. Ideal for warm weather, intensive working conditions, or medical applications.
Why is this ergonomic?
Constant body temperature = less strain
Heat makes you tired. And being tired means being less sharp, less productive, and more prone to errors or complaints. The CoolOver X keeps your body temperature stable, allowing you to stay focused and comfortable for longer. That's a pure gain for both body and work.
Don't miss this either
What is the difference from the standard PCM CoolOver?
The CoolOver X is more robust and durable than the standard variant. It features reinforced shoulder straps and an extra-strong hook-and-loop fastener around the waist. The hook-and-loop fastener used is of medical grade quality, making the vest also suitable for use in healthcare. The cooling principle is otherwise the same: biobased PCM with a fixed temperature of your choice, from 6.5°C to 29°C, fully reusable and without power.
Who is this vest made for?
Think of construction workers, healthcare professionals, emergency response officers, people with MS or heat-related complaints, athletes, festival-goers, motorcyclists, and anyone who simply doesn't like overheating. The CoolOver X is for everyone who wants to stay cool, literally.
Health and safety
The cooling elements of the PCM CoolOver-X contain INUTEQ-PAC, a plant-based phase change material (PCM) certified as 100% biobased (USDA). According to the safety data sheet, the material is not a hazardous substance or mixture (EU Regulation 1272/2008). It contains no persistent or bioaccumulative components, is insoluble in water and is expected to be biodegradable.
If a cooling element leaks
It is not acutely toxic and no symptoms are known. Rinse skin or eyes that come into contact with the contents with plenty of water and consult a doctor if symptoms persist. If someone swallows the contents, contact a doctor immediately. Stop using a damaged element and dispose of it in line with local waste regulations.
Service life and regulations
The cooling elements of the PCM CoolOver-X are reusable and have been assessed in laboratory testing over 10,000 melt and solidify cycles without loss of performance. With daily use, that amounts to decades. (The published cycle test was carried out on the 21 °C variant; the other temperatures use the same biobased PCM technology.) All Inuteq products comply with the European REACH regulation (1907/2006/EC).
