Sun creams with factor 30 and factor 50 offer different levels of protection against UVB rays, which can burn the skin and cause skin cancer.
A sun cream with factor 30 protects against 97% of UVB rays, while factor 50 offers protection against 98% of these rays. This means that factor 50 offers slightly more protection than factor 30. Using factor 50 is particularly recommended for children and people with fair skin.
However, the difference in protection between factor 30 and factor 50 is minimal. It is more important to reapply sun cream regularly and to use enough of it than to place too much emphasis on the difference between factor 30 and factor 50.
