The first thing you notice about the Crystal keyboard is, of course, its split (70%) design, which prevents unnatural wrist angles. This minimises the risk of wrist complaints. The split design allows you to rest your hands on the keyboard at a relaxed angle. This ergonomic design ensures you can work comfortably, even during long typing sessions.
The keyboard is quite high, so a wrist rest is certainly not a luxury. Due to the design of this keyboard, it's difficult to recommend the right one. Unfortunately, X-Bows has not designed a matching model.
Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, you can wirelessly connect to up to 5 devices simultaneously. Switching between devices is quick and easy using the Fn+1/2/3/4/5 keys, making multitasking a breeze. This allows you to quickly switch between, for example, a desktop PC, a laptop, and/or a tablet.
The Hot Swappable Gateron switches can be easily replaced with other switches, allowing you to fully customise the keyboard. The Crystal keyboard comes standard with Gateron Silent Red, Gateron Silent Brown, Brown G Pro 3.0, White G Pro 3.0, and Red G Pro 3.0 switches. You can read more about switches here.
The X-Bows Crystal Keyboard offers ultimate customisation with QMK programming capabilities. This allows you to assign specific functions to keys, enabling you to work faster. As a result, you need fewer actions to perform a certain task. This leads to fewer hand and finger movements, thus reducing strain. Adjust the layout to your preference and work more efficiently than ever before. Programming can be done, for example, with this program.
The Crystal keyboard is very sturdily built and features an impressive battery with a capacity of 3000mAh (4.7-5.3V). This allows you to enjoy wireless freedom for extended periods. Additionally, switch effortlessly between Bluetooth and USB-C cable connection. The keyboard measures 395 x 139 x 40 mm. The keyboard is suitable for both Windows and Mac users. Unfortunately, no extra keycaps are included for Mac.
The Crystal Keyboard distinguishes itself from other keyboards with a completely transparent body, made of acrylic. This is crystal clear, allowing the RGB backlight (with 16.8 million colours!) to truly shine. With this keyboard you choose which switches go underneath. They cost the same, so it comes down to preference. A linear switch travels smoothly with no noticeable bump; a tactile switch has one, and a clicky switch lets you hear it too.
