Evoluent D black glossy wireless (right-handed)
Beschrijving Evoluent D black glossy wireless (right-handed)
Will this mouse fit my hand?
Want to find the ideal mouse? Then be sure to measure your hand. The image below shows you how to measure your hand. This mouse is suitable for hands with the following dimensions:
Hand length:
Small – less than 178mm
Medium – 178–190mm
Large – greater than 190mm
Hand width: not applicable

Important: Is your hand length between two sizes? If so, choose the larger model.
An ode to the Evoluent D wireless
The Evoluent Damn!
If something works, you shouldn’t change it too much. And admittedly, they’ve stayed nicely subtle. The design of the Evoluent 4 and the Evoluent C overlap a bit, nothing strange about that. You pick up the mouse and “woo hoo hoo, what’s this? Curved buttons? Are they now completely... hmm, not bad actually”.
Why the Evoluent D wireless?
The Evoluent D is a vertical mouse that positions the arm in a relaxed, natural posture. Put simply, it’s a normal mouse tilted 90 degrees. The forearm and wrist in particular benefit greatly from this. The hand rests relaxed on the mouse, with the thumb resting in the thumb groove. Thanks to the lip on the underside, the little finger rests on the mouse and will therefore not slide across the desk.
Curved buttons, greater precision
Evoluent has come up with another innovation. Relatively soon after the launch of the Evoluent C, here comes the Evoluent D. We wonder what they’ll do after the Evoluent Z, but we’re nowhere near that yet.
The most striking change in the new model is the curvature of the three front mouse buttons. Evoluent has designed this to give you a better feel for the buttons and allow you to press them with greater control. You have more surface area under your fingers and a better sense of when you’re pressing a button. This means you can operate the buttons with less tension, resulting in a more relaxed grip.
A fully-featured mouse
Like its predecessors, the Evoluent D features an array of buttons. In addition to the three mouse buttons near your fingers, you also have two buttons near your thumb. Using the Mouse Manager (more on that below), you have a wide range of options to make your mouse usage much more efficient.
The small button behind the three mouse buttons is a DPI button. This button allows you to switch instantly between four different cursor sensitivity levels. If you’re doing some precision work, it can be handy to set the cursor to a slower speed. If, for example, you’re doing some clicking and dragging in Excel, you can set it to the maximum setting. At the front of the thumb recess, four green LEDs show you which setting it’s on
Another new feature on the Evoluent D is the anti-slip strip near the palm. This strip, positioned roughly between the first and second phalanges of the finger, provides extra grip so that the hand doesn’t just slip off the mouse.
Finally, a compartment for your USB dongle
Evoluent was one of the few brands that had not yet included space in its mice for the USB dongle. Fortunately, that’s no longer the case with the D! Under the magnetic flap next to the battery compartment, there is now also a small slot where the USB receiver can be placed. You can now transport it with peace of mind
Available in 3 sizes
The Evoluent D is available in 3 sizes, which is great. Partly due to the curved buttons, choosing the right size is important. You want to avoid your fingertips falling (too far) over the buttons. Doing so negates the benefit of its design. The Small version is for hands up to 17.8 cm long, the Medium is suitable for hands longer than 17.8 cm up to 19 cm. Is your hand larger? Then you can opt for the Large.
The most popular for 18 years
Evoluent was launched in early 2000 as one of the first ergonomic mice on the market, but has never shown a moment of weakness in its leading position. They continue to develop their models and, fortunately, are constantly incorporating small innovations. Whereas the Evoluent4 features pronounced curves, the Evoluent C has clean lines. With the D, you can see that a middle ground has been chosen and, admittedly, it sits comfortably in the hand.
What makes an ergonomic mouse so good?
A vertical mouse such as the Evoluent D works very effectively to reduce wrist strain. It rotates your hand into an open position. You can also test the difference in tension in your forearm without holding the mouse. Try holding your forearm with your other hand and rotating your hand from a flat mouse grip to a vertical mouse grip. You’ll feel the difference immediately
Get the most out of it with Mouse Manager
We actually recommend using the Mouse Manager driver with every Evoluent, but with the D it’s a real must. You can download it from the Evoluent website. Here’s a brief summary of all the options Mouse Manager now offers:
- Customising button functions (per programme)
- Hyper scrolling
- Eye Comfort Control
- Pause function
- Click lock & Auto Click
Customising button functions
Evoluent has offered this feature since their Evoluent4. The intuitive software clearly shows which button you are customising and offers a wide range of options. You have 6 customisable buttons as standard, but using the lower thumb button, this can even be expanded to 9 functions. Want to really go all out? Then there’s also the option to tailor the mouse to your hand for each programme.
Hyper Scrolling
A really cool new feature from Evoluent. With Hyper Scrolling, the mouse detects the speed at which you give the scroll wheel a nudge. If you’re turning it gently, tooth by tooth, the page will move up or down in small increments. But if you’re spinning the wheel like mad? Then the mouse understands you want to pick up the pace and will fly through the page in relatively larger jumps. It significantly reduces the number of scrolling movements, which is good for the relaxation of your hand.
Eye Comfort Control
This feature isn’t particularly exciting, but it can certainly come in handy. When you enable Eye Comfort, you can adjust the brightness using a key on your keyboard and the Evoluent’s scroll wheel. Especially in the winter months when it gets dark early, it can be pleasant to turn the brightness down a bit and give your eyes a rest.
Pause function
Evoluent’s pause function isn’t new either, but it certainly shouldn’t be overlooked. You can set it to tell you every few minutes to do something else for a while, as well as how many minutes later you can get back to work. If you struggle to give yourself time for a drink or a short walk, be sure to try out the pause function.
Click Lock & Auto Click
Evoluent understands that clicking causes a lot of strain on the hand and has come up with a solution. With Click Lock, you can lock the left mouse button. If, for example, you need to copy long sections of text, Click Lock means you don’t have to hold the button down the whole time. You activate the click by holding down the mouse button for the duration you set yourself. For example, 1 or 3 seconds. After using Click Lock, click once more to deactivate it.
Auto Click ensures you no longer need to physically click. You set a timer, and if you don’t use the mouse for the set number of seconds, a click is made automatically. If you don’t want to click anything but still want to keep the mouse still, simply place the cursor on a part of the page where nothing can be clicked.
