INUTEQ Bodycool Hybrid cooling vest black/white
Product description of INUTEQ Bodycool Hybrid cooling vest black/white
An ode to the Bodycool hybrid cooling vest
Summer hit
This cooling vest does it all: it absorbs water like a thirsty plant, and it dances with coolpacks as if it were on an ice rink. The only thing missing is a summer hit to dance to!
Why the Bodycool hybrid cooling vest?
Refreshing
The Bodycool Hybrid is a vest that can provide cooling in various warm conditions. Think for example of pre-cooling for athletes or simply while working in a warehouse, in the garden, as a postal worker or window cleaner.
A bit of both
The Bodycool Hybrid cooling vest owes its name to something, of course. Namely its diversity! This cooling vest can offer cooling through the evaporation method or through the use of PCM coolpacks.
For the evaporation method you submerge the cooling vest in tap water. The vest absorbs the moisture and in that way provides cooling. This method works through evaporation and needs airflow to cool well. That is why water activation works best when you wear the vest as the outermost layer over your clothing. Depending on the environment and the intensity of use, the vest can then cool for up to 8 hours.
You can activate the PCM coolpacks in the fridge, freezer or in ice water. Once activated, you slide them into the dedicated compartments in the cooling vest (two on the chest, two on the back). The velcro fastenings keep the coolpacks in place. If you want to wear the vest under clothing, these coolpacks are usually the logical choice. The cooling duration depends on the chosen coolpacks, the environment and the intensity of use, and ranges between 2 and 4.5 hours.
What makes the Bodycool hybrid cooling vest so good?
The Bodycool Hybrid is fitted with a sturdy YKK zip. This makes it easy to put on and take off. A zip is more durable than velcro because a zip usually lasts longer. In addition, this vest has a neater and more streamlined look.

The right temperature
The PCM coolpacks come in 5 different variants. Each variant has its own colour and above all its own temperature, with a cooling duration of 2 to 4.5 hours depending on the chosen coolpacks, the environment and the intensity of use. There are two variants that are ideal to use while doing sports in hot conditions. These have a temperature of 6.5°C or 15°C. The coolpacks to work in have a temperature of 21°C, 24°C or 29°C.
If you want to wear the vest under clothing, PCM coolpacks are usually the logical choice. For water activation, airflow is important to keep cooling well.
| Colour | Activity | Temperature | Cooling time | Solidifies below |
| Orange | Sport | 6.5°C | up to 2 hours | 5°C |
| Blue | Sport | 15°C | up to 2.5 hours | 10°C |
| Yellow | Work | 21°C | up to 3 hours | 19°C |
| White | Work | 24°C | up to 3.5 hours | 21°C |
| Red | Work | 29°C | up to 4.5 hours | 26°C |

Cooling improves performance
Studies have shown that a cooling garment is a good means of improving performance. Wearing a cooling vest extends working time by an average of 16.4%. Employees or athletes can keep up their work (or sport) for longer.
In the table below you can read how much performance capacity decreases at a given ambient temperature. Racing driver Max Verstappen, for example, likes to use the PCM CoolOver under his racing overalls. The Dutch women's hockey team also used these cooling vests during the warm up at the Tokyo Games, so they could perform better during the match. Want to read more about this? You can do so here.
| Ambient temperature | Performance decrease |
| 25°C | 3% |
| 30°C | 10% |
| 35°C | 18% |
| 40°C | 28% |
Activating vest and coolpacks
The Hybrid vest can be reactivated once it has dried after wearing. The cooling elements that optionally come with it can also be reactivated. You can see the maximum number of times for reactivation below.
| Product | Minimum number of activations |
| Vest | 250-300 |
| Coolpacks | 10,000 |
Health and safety
The Bodycool Hybrid cooling vest combines two cooling techniques: evaporative cooling with plain water (INUTEQ-H2O) and plant-based PCM cooling elements (INUTEQ-PAC, 100% biobased according to USDA certification). According to Inuteq's safety data sheets, both are free of hazardous components and non-toxic. Under normal use and direct skin contact there are no known risks. All Inuteq products comply with the European REACH regulation (1907/2006/EC).
In case of leakage of a cooling element
The PCM in the cooling elements of the Bodycool Hybrid cooling vest is not acutely toxic. Rinse skin or eyes that come into contact with the contents with plenty of water and consult a doctor if complaints persist. If someone swallows the contents, contact a doctor immediately. Do not use a damaged element any more.
Wash before first use
Are you wearing the product over light or light-coloured clothing? Then wash it once before you use it for the first time. When first dampened, new textiles can release a little excess dye. That is normal with coloured fabrics. Washing it beforehand rinses out that loose dye, so your clothing stays clean.
How to store the vest
Are you storing the vest for a longer period? Then preferably keep it activated, in the fridge or freezer. The cooling elements then stay in solid form and the vest is always ready for immediate use.
Would you rather store the vest at room temperature? Then lay it flat. The elements then stay liquid (they only solidify below the activation point of your temperature variant) and can start to "sweat" slightly after a long time: a little greasy residue then appears on the outside. We received this advice directly from Inuteq. For storage of months, the fridge or freezer is therefore the best place.
