SITTING BALL
FROM 89.90Reviews from our customers about their ergonomic sitting ball
Why do I need an ergonomic sitting ball?
Sporty little ball
Its name doesn't sound sporty. But it's mainly meant for sitting on, right? That's correct, but due to the unstable nature of the ergonomic sitting ball, you are encouraged to do so actively. This means you use more muscles than on a normal office chair or even a saddle stool. A sitting ball encourages you to sit in a correct posture. This also makes you more aware of your posture when you sit on a less ergonomically sound chair.
Office sitting ball
Sitting in the same position for a long time is not good for you, full stop. Office chairs often don't provide enough for a dynamic posture. Since a healthy and ergonomically sound working posture is primarily a dynamic one, it's important to ensure variety. This can be done by alternating between standing and sitting work, but also by using different seating furniture. This is where the sitting ball comes in.
Active posture
The sitting ball promotes an active posture and gives you more freedom of movement. Because sitting on a sitting ball is more intensive for your muscles, we advise against working on it for very long periods at a time. If you do, you might feel tired at the end of the day.
6 tips to get the most out of your ergonomic sitting ball
- Build up gradually and don't go all-in
Are you working on a sitting ball for the first time? Then don't sit for too long at a stretch. Build it up gradually and, most importantly, alternate
- Use the 'calf trick' to get used to a sitting ball
In the beginning, it can be a bit difficult to find enough stability. Then place your calves against the ball. This way, you can get used to it more easily, without constantly rolling through the office
- Don't fix the ball in place
Do not use aids that keep the ball in place. This actually disables one of its important properties: its instability
- Chair, ball, stand, ball, stand, chair
Alternate sufficiently. For example, work on a sitting ball for half an hour and then work standing or on your office chair
- Adjust your desk height to the sitting ball
Make sure your desk height is correct. A sitting ball results in a slightly higher sitting position
- Choose the right size. Generally, the following applies:
- If you are shorter than 160 cm, choose a sitting ball of Ø 55 cm
- If you are taller than 160 cm but shorter than 180 cm, choose a sitting ball of Ø 65 cm
- If you are taller than 180 cm, go for a sitting ball of Ø 75 cm
Choose the right sitting ball
A good sitting ball is made of thicker rubber, making it more forgiving when it comes to sharp objects. Additionally, they are often available in different sizes for various body heights. And also not entirely unimportant, sitting balls are increasingly being fitted with stylish covers so they don't look out of place in the trendiest open-plan offices or in your living room or home office.
