An ode to the Kinesis Freestyle Edge RGB Plus
Bold splitting with style
Do you know that feeling when your fingers glide across a keyboard as if they're on a dance floor? Well, that's what you get with the Kinesis Freestyle Edge RGB Plus. This keyboard is not only a treat for your hands but also a beacon of calm for your shoulders and neck. Splitting, lifting, choosing colours, gaming, working. And it looks pretty darn good too.
Why the Kinesis Freestyle Edge RGB Plus?
A keyboard that moves with you
Whether you're a passionate gamer, a programmer with endless code, or simply type a lot, this keyboard gives you the freedom to determine your posture yourself. Split it into two parts and place your arms relaxed beside your body. No more cramped shoulders, just air and space.
RGB? Absolutely
The RGB lighting is not only beautiful but also functional. You can fully customise everything, from colours to effects, with the smart SmartSet software. With onboard storage, your setup is retained even without installation. Even macros and shortcuts are easy to set up.
What makes this keyboard so good?
The Gateron Pro switches give you a delightful feel with every keystroke. You can order it with the brown tactile switch or the red linear switch. The brown switch provides a bit more feedback during typing and is generally considered better for 'standard' computer work. The red switch is more geared towards gamers, but ultimately, your personal preference is decisive. The switches are hot-swappable, so you can swap them without technical intervention. The stabilisers are pre-lubed for a smooth and quiet typing experience. And thanks to the included lift kit, you can position the halves exactly as you want: flat, slightly tilted, or in a tenting position.

Use the lift
The lift kit is included as standard, so make use of it. This allows you to bring your hands and wrists into a more natural position. Especially in combination with a good armrest, that makes a world of difference.
Switch it up
Want to install a different type of switch? No problem. The RGB Plus is hot-swappable, so you can easily click in another mechanical switch. Without any hassle, using the included switch puller. Which is nice.
Don't miss this either
What's new compared to the previous Freestyle Edge?
Quite a lot has been improved under the bonnet. For example, the Cherry MX switches have been replaced by Gateron Pro v1 versions that feel smoother and provide less wobble. The stabilisers are factory pre-lubed, contributing to a quieter and smoother typing experience. The lift kit is now also included as standard, as are Apple keycaps, handy if you work on a Mac. And do you feel like tweaking it yourself? The switches are now hot-swappable. In short, it's not a small update, but a significant upgrade.
