Many benefits in one go
There's no longer any need to sit in the dark, avoid screens completely or walk around in sunglasses all day. Migraine glasses give you the benefits of all these measures in one, and you look more stylish straight away.
The glasses use so-called FL41 filtered lenses, which is why they are also known as "migraine glasses". The filter keeps only the most powerful light, certain wavelengths from blue and green light, from reaching your eyes. This also improves contrast and even visual acuity.
Fluorescent light (or other bright lighting) and computer, TV and other screens give off a lot of irritating blue light. Wearing the Nelli computer glasses with a blue light filter takes the strain off your eyes, which can help reduce headaches, visual stress and blepharospasm. Your sleep may also improve, because blue light inhibits the production of the sleep hormone.
People with migraine will recognise the habit of wearing sunglasses (indoors too) to counter migraine symptoms. The problem is that your eyes get used to the dark, which can make your light sensitivity worse. That is why the FL41 filter, or UV filter, blocks only the most sensitive light. Your eyes are protected without becoming "lazy".
The stylish frame is available in two colours: brown and black. The frame is also very light, which does a great deal for wearing comfort. The glasses come with a leather case and a cleaning cloth.
Migraine glasses are a simple solution to a complicated problem. Light-sensitive people used to have to take all sorts of measures to keep headaches and other discomfort at bay. And anyone who spends a lot of time looking at a screen knows the drawbacks of that. Now there is one solution that protects your eyes against harmful light and can make your days a great deal more comfortable: the migraine glasses.
Where and how often you should wear the glasses differs per person and per situation. To get a clear picture for yourself, work out in which situations you notice symptoms of light sensitivity. Those are the moments to wear the glasses. Please note: wearing the glasses while driving at night is not recommended.
In 2023 a study was carried out among 91 surgical assistants. The study looked at bright operating theatre lighting, with FL-41 filter glasses examined as a possible solution. Of the 91 respondents, 65.1% reported symptoms. 23.8% had tired eyes, 17.5% headaches and 13.5% migraine. 18.9% had called in sick at some point because of these symptoms. 26 participants used the FL-41 filter glasses for an average of 5 days. 56.5% experienced fewer symptoms and 78.2% of the testers gave the glasses a score of 7 or higher. 30.4% wanted to buy the glasses regardless, 56.5% were considering it.
