SUSTAINABLE ERGONOMIC PRODUCTS
FROM JUST £16Sustainable manufacturers
In essence, ergonomic products are sustainable for the body. But what if these products were also sustainable for nature? This is exactly what a number of manufacturers also thought. We will introduce them individually below because we believe their working methods deserve some extra attention.
KarTent
KarTent makes cardboard festival tents that replace the usual plastic tents (which are often thrown away after just one festival). Through collaborations with festivals, KarTent sets up the tents for renters. After use, KarTent collects the tents again to make new products from them; Upcycling. As a result, there may be traces of festival creativity left on the cardboard. The great thing about cardboard is that you can be wonderfully creative with it, and painting your own creation over it is no problem at all! These are products for the true creative. The cardboard is fully circular, meaning that after its lifespan it is recycled and the cycle starts again from a festival tent.
BakkerElkhuizen
At BakkerElkhuizen, they focus on reusing plastic and they believe that “it is our duty to contribute and tackle the plastic problem together”. BakkerElkhuizen does this by recycling PET bottles and making new products from them. After their lifespan, these products are recycled again and formed into new products. This way, these products are 100% circular.
R-Go
The plastic components of R-Go mice and keyboards are made entirely from recycled and circular material. This means that after their lifespan, the products are recycled and new products can then be made from them. R-Go goes a step further and solemnly promises to recycle products returned to them after use. In addition, R-Go is a member of the WEEE, a European body that regulates the collection and recycling of electronic devices.
