Why the Glovii GQ3 heated socks?

The difference is on the inside

The Glovii GQ3 heated socks have a brushed interior instead of plain knit. An extra finishing step gives the inside of the fabric a soft, fluffy layer. According to Glovii, that layer also holds the warmth for longer.

The GQ3 is the second Glovii sock model in the range, next to the Glovii heated socks GQ2. If you prefer cotton, the GQ2 is the logical choice. If you want a sock that feels soft on the inside, go for the GQ3.

Warmth where the cold arrives first

In the GQ3 the carbon fibre heating element sits at the front of the sock, at your toes and forefoot. That is usually where you feel the cold first. The element heats with infrared and spreads the warmth evenly across the whole heated area, instead of in spots.

Three heat levels

With the remote control you pick one of the three heat levels of the GQ3 without taking off your shoe or boot. The warmer the level, the shorter the runtime per charge:

So on the highest level the GQ3 lasts about 2 hours. For a long day outdoors, start on the lowest level and only turn it up when you really need it.

Charging and storing the batteries

The GQ3 comes with two 2400 mAh batteries and a mains charger with two outputs, so you charge both batteries at once. Each battery has a built-in indicator that shows how much charge is left. If you don't use the socks for a while, fully charge the batteries at least every 6 months, as the Glovii manual advises.

Switching with the remote

With the remote control of the GQ3 you change the heat level while your shoes stay on. Handy when you are waiting in the cold and don't feel like bending down.

Washing at 40 °C

According to the manual, the Glovii GQ3 can go in the washing machine at 40 °C on a delicate programme. Take the batteries out first: they come loose with a simple pull. Then let the socks dry flat, don't wring them and don't use bleach or an iron.
