Why the Hydrogel-13 cooling vest?

Ideal for sports

This ultra-light cooling vest is designed based on the vest developed for NOC*NSF. TeamNL wears these vests during the Olympic Games. Weighing only 750 grams after activation, this is the ideal vest for optimal performance in the world of sports. It helps keep the body cool, resulting in better performance. In many sports, small differences in time make the difference between winning a medal or not. Therefore, it is important to utilise every small advantage.

Thanks to the horizontal mesh pattern on the front and back, good airflow is created to keep the body cool. Extra cooling panels have been added to the neck and nape, where the veins are close to the skin. A chin guard is placed at the top of the zip to prevent irritation to the neck.

Evaporation technique

The cooling vest contains compartments with gel inside. This gel can absorb water when the vest is submerged. This process takes about 20 minutes. After these 20 minutes, the vest needs a drying time of about 30 minutes before you can wear it. You can optionally roll the wet cooling vest in a towel to remove excess water. The vest is now essentially ready for use, but still feels damp. To fully dry the fabric, hang the cooling vest up. After that, you can wear it without it leaving wet marks on your clothes.

Your body heat causes the water from the vest to evaporate, thereby dissipating body heat. For this process to work optimally, it is important that the vest can breathe. Therefore, you cannot wear clothing over the hydrogel vest.

Please be patient

Since activation with submersion and drying takes about an hour, it is advisable to activate the vest the evening before use. By the way, do you want to know if the vest is completely water-free? You can feel this by the gel in the compartments, which eventually turns into hard granules.

Thanks to this evaporation technology, the vest provides up to 48 hours of cooling. For more intense cooling, the vest can also be placed in the freezer (do not fold!), after which it works for about 30 minutes and then switches to the evaporation method.

Durable polyester

The vest is made of polyester, which makes it hard-wearing. An additional advantage is that the material dries easily. Since you have to activate the vest in water, this is quite convenient. The 6 available sizes ensure that you can wear it snugly, which makes it extra comfortable.

What makes a cooling vest so good?

Between 18 and 25 degrees, we experience the most comfort when it comes to warmth. Above that, we quickly get too hot. To keep the temperature bearable, a cooling vest can be the solution. You can truly wear such a vest anywhere. At home, outdoors, in the car, during a bike ride. You don't necessarily have to look for air conditioning or a fan to find some cooling.
