Turn a regular keyboard upside down and give it a gentle shake. We will not describe what falls out. With the ClassicClean compact, nothing falls out. Nothing can get in. The silicone membrane keeps everything outside, so from now on you can hold your lunch right above your keyboard. (Not that we recommend it.)

Made to be cleaned

The ClassicClean compact by Active Key is designed for workstations that are cleaned daily: treatment rooms, nursing stations, laboratories and shared front desks. The key field sits under a seamless silicone cover, which is why it is also called a disinfectable keyboard. You wipe down the entire surface with common hospital disinfectants, without moisture or dirt getting between the keys.

The cover comes off

This version has a removable silicone cover. You take it off the keyboard and clean it separately, by machine at 93 or even 134 degrees Celsius. Useful when your hygiene protocol asks for more than wipe disinfection alone: the cover joins the cleaning round, the keyboard stays in place.

Compact, so the mouse sits close

Thanks to the compact format of the ClassicClean compact, your mouse sits right next to the key field. Your arm rotates outward less, and you notice that in your shoulder. If you switch between typing and mousing all day, that pays off every single workday.

What makes the ClassicClean compact so good?

The ClassicClean compact combines hygiene with serious typing comfort. The keys use a scissor mechanism, with a key travel of around 2.5 mm and a light actuation force of about 60 grams. It types like a good laptop keyboard, even during long shifts. And with the CleanFunction you disable the key field while cleaning, so you never accidentally type half sentences into an open record.

A quick note on cleaning

Activate the CleanFunction with the key combination Fn + Clean on/off before wiping down the ClassicClean compact. Use disinfectants approved by the manufacturer, so the membrane and key legends last as long as possible.

Hygiene product, not a medical device

The ClassicClean compact complies with the EN 60601-1-2:2015 standard for electromagnetic interference, which makes it suitable for use near medical equipment. The keyboard is a hygiene product and not a medical device within the meaning of European directive 93/42/EEC.
