Why the Glovii heated mittens?

One compartment for your fingers

The Glovii heated mittens have one compartment for your fingers and a separate thumb. A hand in that shape loses less heat than in a five-finger glove. You notice it most when standing still in the cold: in the stands, at the ski lift or on a quiet winter walk.

Waterproof membrane and Thinsulate

Under the leather and nylon outer sits a Hypora membrane. It is waterproof and breathable: water stays out and vapour can escape. Thinsulate gives the heated mittens extra insulation.

Warmth on the back of your hand

The carbon fibre heating element (8 W) works across the back of the hand, where the cold arrives first. It also runs along the edge of the mitten, into the thumb. The battery sits in a closable pocket at the wrist.

Three heat levels

The Glovii heated mittens have three heat levels. The higher the level, the shorter a fully charged 2100 mAh battery lasts:

Hold the button on the back of the mitten for 2 seconds to switch the heating on or off. A short press switches between levels: red is the highest, blue the middle and green the lowest.

What makes the heated mittens so good?

A mitten is warmer than a fingered glove, but you give up some dexterity. The Glovii heated mittens deliberately choose warmth, with a membrane against wet weather and an element on the back of the hand. If your hands get cold quickly and you often stand still outdoors, that is often a good trade.

Fiddly jobs without the mitten

Charging and storage

According to the manual a full charge takes 4 to 6 hours. An indicator on the glove shows how much charge the battery has left. If you put the Glovii heated mittens away after winter, fully charge the batteries at least every 6 months.
