The mat contains a nanocarbon infrared element with copper strips, sandwiched between two layers of polyester film. On top of this is the carpet, chosen because it conducts heat well and is durable enough for daily use with shoes.

Heatek handcrafts the Heatek Delicate Sand heated foot mat in the Netherlands. The edge is hemmed all round, whilst the underside is made of insulating, non-slip latex.
