CABLE TIE

Why do I need cable ties?
Do you want to tidy up your workspace, but don't want to install rigorous items like a cable tray? Cable ties to the rescue. They are small, easy to use, reusable, and can always be applied.
The great advantage of cable management with cable ties is the ease with which the ties can be added and removed. Very handy if an extra cable needs to be tidied away, or if a cable needs to be removed from the bundle.
By combining cable ties, larger bundles can be joined, but a bundle can also be easily guided along a desk leg.
They are also used for large cable management jobs, by the way. Cables bundled from the desk to a cable tray and then towards another desk or wall is an aesthetic detail that makes the difference between a ‘neat job’ and ‘fantastic work’.
Tips to get the most out of your cable ties
- Don't make your bundle too thick
With a cable bundle that's too thick, you can still lose track of the cables. Also, a thick bundle is less flexible and won't run as neatly over the edge of your desk.
- Black is often the nicest
Are you unsure about the colour of your cable tie? Keep in mind that 99% of cables are black. A black cable tie will therefore be the nicest option.
- First connect your cables and ensure sufficient space
After bundling your cables, some flexibility is lost. So make sure all your cables are properly laid out first, give them enough space (hello phone cable), and only then bundle everything tightly.
- Secure your cable tie under the desk with a screw
If you want to hang the bundled cables tightly under the desk without a cable tray, you can secure them to your desktop with a small screw through the cable tie.
- Do you think you'll need to remove cables later? Tag them
It sometimes happens that you have cables that will be replaced in due course. Think of a new keyboard or a new desk lamp. If you provide the cables with a small (coloured) sticker on both sides, you'll immediately know which one to remove.
