For your working posture, using a drawing tablet means it can be more compact. You place the pen tablet between your body and the keyboard, so you no longer have to reach to the right (or left for left-handers). This significantly reduces the strain on your shoulder and upper arm muscles.

The position of your hand is also much more natural and therefore more relaxed than when holding a flat mouse. Additionally, thanks to Multi-Touch support, you can switch between pen control and finger control. Especially when you're not doing precise work, controlling with your fingers is very pleasant.
