Why the Hydrogel-04 cooling vest?

Looking for some extra cooling on days when the temperature is on the tropical side? Then consider a cooling solution such as the Hydrogel-04 cooling vest. This vest works ideally at temperatures between 25 and 40 degrees and up to 90% humidity.

The Hydrogel-04 is a cooling vest that works based on water evaporation. Thanks to this technology, the vest provides up to 72 hours of cooling. For more intense cooling, the vest can also be placed in the freezer (do not fold!), after which it works for about 2 hours and then switches to the evaporation method.

Hydrogel cooling

The cooling vest contains compartments with gel inside. This gel can absorb water when the vest is submerged. This process takes about 20 minutes. After those 20 minutes, the vest needs a drying time of about 30 minutes before you can wear it.

Your body heat causes the water from the vest to evaporate, thereby dissipating body heat. For this process to work optimally, it is important that the vest can breathe. Therefore, you cannot wear clothing over the hydrogel vest.

Since activation by soaking and drying takes about an hour, it is advisable to activate the vest the evening before use. By the way, do you want to know if the vest is completely water-free? You can feel this by the gel in the compartments, which eventually turns into hard granules.

The hydrogel can be used very broadly. You can wear it while walking, exercising, and working (e.g., courier, garden maintenance). Women can also benefit greatly from it during pregnancy in the summer. The vest is also very well received by people suffering from MS. The Hydrogel-04 nicely distributes the weight of the water it absorbs over the entire upper body. Dry, the vest weighs 250 grams; activated, it weighs 2200 grams. Thanks to this weight distribution and the good fit, you hardly feel you're wearing it. The vest has a zip at the front, so you can easily put it on and take it off.

Difference with the Hydrogel-05

The Hydrogel-04 and the Hydrogel-05 are almost identical. They cool for the same duration and equally well, and both can be closed with a sturdy zip. The only difference between these two variants is the sides of the vest.
