Ergopro Heavy Duty dual monitor arm with gas springs - black
Product description of Ergopro Heavy Duty dual monitor arm with gas springs - black
An ode to the Ergopro Heavy Duty dual monitor arm
Muscle with a soft touch
Picture a weightlifter who also does ballet. Holding twenty kilos overhead while spinning a pirouette with one finger: that is roughly what this Ergopro arm does for you all day. Your screen stays exactly where you put it, and moving it takes almost no effort. Tutu not included.
Why the Ergopro Heavy Duty dual monitor arm?
Made for large and heavy screens
The Ergopro Heavy Duty dual monitor arm with gas springs holds two screens from 17 to 35 inches, curved models included. Each arm takes 2 to 20 kg. That makes it a good fit for the heavier ultrawide and gaming screens a light monitor arm is not built for.
Two screens, each in its own place
Each arm of this dual monitor arm has its own gas spring and moves independently. Put one screen straight in front of you and the other at an angle beside it, or turn one upright for long documents. You set up your desk the way you work, not the other way round.
Your screens at the right height
With the Ergopro Heavy Duty dual monitor arm you set the top edge of your screens at eye level and pull them closer whenever you need to. That can help reduce a bent neck and raised shoulders at your desk. And the desk surface under your screens is free again.
Get the most out of your dual monitor arm
Setting the spring tension
A gas spring arm only works well when its tension matches the weight of your screen. On this dual monitor arm you set that per arm with the supplied 6 mm Allen key. Hold the arm level: if it drops, turn the adjustment screw anticlockwise, if it rises, turn it clockwise.
Viewing angle and portrait mode
The screen tilts 50 degrees back and 20 degrees forward, and the head swivels 90 degrees to either side. You can also rotate the screen all the way round for portrait mode. If a screen tilts by itself, tighten the head a little with the same key.
Cables out of sight
Both arms have a cable channel with a cover, and a clip on the pole keeps the cables together. The power and video cables of both screens run down along the dual monitor arm instead of loose across your desk.
Mounting with the detachable VESA plate
First screw the VESA plate onto the back of your screen. Then hook screen and plate onto the arm together and secure them. With a large screen this is easier with two people.
Also worth knowing
Measure before you order
Check your desktop first. The desk clamp of the Ergopro Heavy Duty dual monitor arm fits a desktop 12 to 50 mm thick. If you prefer to mount through the desk, you need a hole of 10 to 60 mm in diameter, or you drill one of 10 mm yourself.
Check the back of your screens too. They need a VESA mount of 75 x 75 or 100 x 100 mm and should weigh between 2 and 20 kg each. If your screen only has a larger VESA pattern, this dual monitor arm will not fit it.
Space on your desk
The pole sits at the back edge of your desk and each arm reaches up to about 56 cm forward. The screens sit about 18 to 45 cm above the desktop, measured to the centre of the VESA plate. On a desk 80 cm deep you can bring them well towards you or park them against the back.
Pros and cons
- Holds screens up to 35 inches and 20 kg per arm
- Each arm adjusts on its own
- Cables disappear into the arms
- Desk clamp and grommet mount both included
- Less ideal if your screen only has a VESA pattern larger than 100 x 100
- Less ideal if you want to mount a large screen without help
In short: the Ergopro Heavy Duty dual monitor arm with gas springs is a monitor arm for two large or heavy screens. Key points: 17 to 35 inches, 2 to 20 kg per arm.
