INUTEQ Bodycool Xtreme cooling vest - Blue
Product description of INUTEQ Bodycool Xtreme cooling vest - Blue
An ode to the Bodycool Xtreme
Deliberately soaking wet
All your life you’ve kept your clothes nice and dry. And then along comes the Bodycool Xtreme, the one vest you actually dip in water just before putting it on. Give it a quick squeeze, slip it on, and you’re ready to go. That wet feeling takes a bit of getting used to. But as soon as the heat hits, you won’t complain anymore.
Why the Bodycool Xtreme?
Cooling down when it gets hot
The Bodycool Xtreme is an evaporative cooling vest for those moments when the heat gets to you. Think of working in a hot warehouse, pottering about in the garden, a ride on your motorbike or exercising in the sun. Simply dip the vest in water, wring it out and put it on. From that moment on, the Bodycool Xtreme cools your body to around 15 °C below the ambient temperature.
How it cools
The Bodycool Xtreme cools through evaporation. The water in the PVA panels evaporates slowly, drawing heat away from your body. This means the Bodycool Xtreme needs some airflow: a bit of wind or movement makes all the difference. The vest works best in dry air with a bit of wind; in muggy and humid air, you’ll notice it less.
Because the Bodycool Xtreme requires airflow, you should wear the vest as an outer layer. Under a jacket or thick clothing, the moisture cannot evaporate and the vest provides little cooling. If you want cooling under your clothing, a cooling vest with PCM cooling packs is a more logical choice.
What makes the Bodycool Xtreme so good?
Faster evaporation, more cooling
The difference lies in the panels. The Bodycool Xtreme uses super-absorbent PVA panels that absorb a lot of water and allow it to evaporate more quickly than a standard evaporative vest. That faster evaporation provides more cooling, making the Bodycool Xtreme ideal for exercise in the heat. As a result, the vest does lose its cooling effect a bit sooner, but during intense exercise in the heat, that extra cooling more than makes up for it. The Bodycool Xtreme does feel a bit damp when worn, which is to be expected with this type of cooling vest.
Ready in a minute
Activating it is simple. You hold the Bodycool Xtreme under water for about a minute, squeeze out the excess water, and the vest is ready. No electricity, no fridge, no waiting time. If the panels dry out completely, they become stiff. That’s normal with the Bodycool Xtreme: just wet it again and the vest becomes supple once more.
Don’t miss this either
Moist out of the packaging
A new Bodycool Xtreme already feels slightly damp when you take it out of the bag. This isn’t a fault: it means you can try the vest on straight away. The Bodycool Xtreme comes in a resealable plastic bag, which is handy for temporarily storing the damp vest after a hot day.
Where the vest works best
The Bodycool Xtreme is at its best outdoors or in places with some airflow. If you’re standing all day in a sweltering, windless room, you’ll get less out of it than on a warm day with a breeze. Bear this in mind when deciding what you want to use the Bodycool Xtreme for.
