BOOK STAND
FROM 26.95Why do I need a book stand?
It doesn't matter if you read a lot or a little, professionally or as a hobby. Reading is incredibly enjoyable, but it can also be very tiring. You're always struggling to find a comfortable reading posture. Especially if you read in bed or on the beach, you're familiar with constantly changing positions. A book stand can help you win that battle gloriously. What can it do for you, you ask? We've clearly outlined it for you.

Choose the right book stand
It's not surprising if you don't immediately know which book holder you want to buy. There's quite a lot to choose from. There are all kinds of book stands in various materials, shapes, and sizes. Depending on your needs, we can help you make the choice easier:
- 1. Where do you want to read?
If you always read at a table or desk, then you have a wide choice for a new book holder. However, if you also want to read in bed, in the park, on the beach, or another ‘exotic’ location, then it's best to go for a support that is easy to carry, compact in size, and lightweight. Our Bookseat is nicely mouldable, so you can even use it while lying down.
- 2. Does the book stay open easily or not?
The type of book can influence your new book stand. Do you mostly have books that behave submissively and always stay neatly open? Then there's plenty of choice. However, if you read many disobedient books that decide for themselves which page they open for you, then a clip to hold the book on the correct page can be very useful. See our Bookseat or the Libro B for that.
- 3. What size books do you want to place on it?
The size of your books definitely plays a role in choosing a suitable book holder. Standard books around A5 size can remain firm and solid in almost any book stand. Larger A4-sized books that weigh well over a kilo and/or have a very soft and flexible spine perform less well on a smaller and softer book holder. In that case, it's best to opt for an A3/A4 size book stand.
- 4. What material do you prefer?
Book stands are made from various materials. For example, they come in acrylic, metal, and fabric. Acrylic and metal are ideal stands for placing large, heavy books. Additionally, the transparent composition of acrylic blends in nicely, making it less conspicuous. If you prefer a softer material, then the fabric variant is the best option. This is also excellent for placing on your lap.
- 5. How large can the book holder be?
Do you have a desk with plenty of space or a small kitchen where every square centimetre is used efficiently? Always check the product specifications carefully to see if it fits where you intend to use the book holder.
- 6. Do you want to be able to place other items next to/under it?
Following on from the size of the book stand, its shape may also be important to you. For example, our acrylic book holders are particularly suitable for placing items underneath. For instance, another book, your phone, pens (or something tasty).
